The 11th Annual Tri-Town Family 5K is in the books, and we had another very successful event. The weather was cool and wet, but it cooperated with us long enough to get everyone across the finish line without getting soaked. A hardy 182 participants completed this year's 3.11.
Big thanks to the volunteers and sponsors who made this event happen. We are so grateful for the kindness and generosity in our community. Special shoutout to the Whittier teaching staff for their many efforts in setting up the course, volunteering at the race, donating items, cleaning up, and encouraging our kids.
Kyle Simmons (19:20) and Jacob Norris (20:34) led the way with a 1, 2 finish. Our top female finishers were Erin Leist (24:43) and Violet Vincent (25:55).
It was an absolute pleasure to see students and their families come across the finish line, many experiencing their first 5K event. Eighth grader Dylan Cobb was the first Mid-Knight to finish, in a speedy 23:33. Davis Hill was the first female Whittier student, leading the way with a 28:53 time.
Thank you to all who took part. We look forward to seeing you next year.
